Has the Wisconsin fireball got you busy? I've noticed you haven't posted in a while.

I recently read in article in Astronomy magazine pertaning to the LHC. The target energy is eventually 42 Tev. Amazing! I am not academically instructed in physics but have read as much as I have access to. I realize much will be learned from this awesome human endeavor. The true discovery of the Higg's boson, the substantiation of dark energy, more. A question popped into my unlearned mind. How close will what we may learn from a full-power LHC bring us to a working theory of quantum gravity. To finally marry relativity and quantum mechanics. I posted this same question on another forum and was given a reply by an English astronomer that I was way ahead of things. Has anyone yet to postulate on this?
I truly wish I had involved myself wiith more advanced academia in the fields of astronomy/astro-physics and/or cosmology. A decision I rue daily now.
When I look into the night sky and even though I can't SEE everything up there, thanks to astronomers, I have a good idea of what IS up there and my jaw drops.
